Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts

About

This Swiss culinary school is a member of the Swiss Education Group and offers undergraduate training. Founded in 1991, the academy typically has about 300 students enrolled across its two campuses in Lucerne and Le Bouveret. Bachelor’s and culinary students are based at the latter, while those specializing in chocolate and pastry are based in Lucerne.

Undergraduate students have the option of studying a dual Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts in collaboration with the University of Derby in the UK. The programme focusses on developing both kitchen skills and entrepreneurial acumen. Two compulsory internships enable students to gain a year of work experience before they graduate. The Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Arts is awarded by University of Derby, U.K., and all students benefit from the professional partnerships with Ritz Escoffier, Mane, and Alessi.

Students of the Swiss Grand Diploma program line focus on developing their kitchen skills and benefit from one internship opportunity once they have completed two terms of the three-term program. The Swiss Grand Diploma program is offered in various specialist pathways like Culinary Arts, Swiss Pastry and Chocolate Arts and Vegetarian Culinary Arts.

Campus Life
The two campuses in the historic centre of Lucerne and the lakeside at Le Bouveret offer an innovative educational experience. Equipped with a total of 18 state-of-the-art kitchens, students benefit from small classes, a save and inspiring study environment and multiple professional partnerships with industry pioneers.

As of summer 2016, the Le Bouveret campus is home to The Mosimann Collection: A Culinary Heritage. This unique collaboration houses memorabilia gathered by legendary Swiss Chef Anton Mosimann (OBE) throughout the span of his highly successful career. As a regular visitor to his collection, a surprise cookery session is always welcomed by the students and provides enormous insight into the professional world.

Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland is the only institution in Switzerland to receive official recognition from the World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WORLDCHEFS).
