Village Camps – Leadership Training Camp

This award-winning programme is led by Course Director, David Allen, assisted by a team of experienced staff plus an international selection of renowned guest speakers, specially flown in to engage with young leadership campers. The speakers typically fly in from the USA, South Africa and the UK.

At the point when children move into their mid and late teens the innovative leadership training programme can play a vital part in their personal development, preparation for university and for the challenges of their lives ahead. The much-acclaimed Leadership Training Camp (LTC) is designed to: – build self-confidence – raise self-esteem – encourage motivation – improve communication skills and – develop individual leadership qualities.

At the end of the session, apart from enjoying the fun of the course and the companionship of their fellow campers from all over the world, participants gain a better understanding of themselves as they gradually gain a real sense of leadership. The LTC campers learn how to work more effectively as a team under the inspiring guidance of the impressive Village Camps team. This dynamic programme combines thought-provoking talks by specialist Village Camp staff and invited international speakers with a programme of testing challenges and action-packed activities.

Each day is constructed around:

  • leadership training sessions
  • inspiring talks from our range of top guest speakers
  • talks are followed by an open question and answer session
  • challenging discussions that stretch the mind
  • goal-setting exercises and time management
  • innovative team-building exercises and
  • a programme of off-camp visits to outdoor sites to engage in challenging tasks and physical activities.

Campers attending the Leadership Training Camp are based at the nearby Alpine Classic Hotel where the unique this programme has exclusive use of its lounge and recreational amenities. The Hotel is well situated close to the centre of the village and to outstanding sport and leisure facilities. The comfortable bedrooms accomodate 2-4 campers all include en-suite facilities.

The programme has its own dedicated programme of lectures, discussions, events and activities during weekdays. On the weekend campers usually joins campers from other programmers for exciting excursions that include:

  • Geneva centre and selected landmarks
  • the lakeside town of Lausanne
  • Maison Cailler – a chocolate factory
  • Water-Park in the nearby town of Aigle
