360° Summer Hospitality Training

About

Villars Palace Academy is delivering a short experiential blended learning programme that allows students, in 2 months to successfully:

• • Discover the world of Hospitality and Business on a busy resort and confirm their desire to embrace a career in this domain.
  • Develop practical basic skills from the Rooms, Service and Kitchen departments, to acquire the basic skills to work in a hotel.
  • Obtain a Villars Palace foundation training certificate, that includes 200 hours of practical training and experience.
  • Acquire work experience with one-month internship in 3 different hotels and 7 different restaurants on the Villars Alpine Resort.
  • Follow personal development workshops with renowned partners, to Discover the hospitality of tomorrow, expand their innovation and leadership skills, and develop a Sustainability oriented mindset.
  • Improve their knowledge of French for Tourism, Hospitality and catering or review their English skills and prepare for the IELTS test.
  • Experience expeditions in the mountains, and develop further life skills, such as confidence, resilience, independence, open-mindedness or decision-making.

Program Breakdown

• • 4 weeks of theoretical and practical training (160 hours) revolving around three pillars: Hospitality, Leadership and Sustainability, including language courses and visits of innovative businesses who are combining innovation and sustainability.
  • 4 weeks of hospitality practical immersion (40 hours per week) on the Villars Alpine Resort, in different departments of three hotels, on a rotation basis around various positions such as: guest relation attendant, housekeeping room attendant, waiter at coffee shop, kitchen commis.
  • Evening and weekends dedicated to: 
    • Cultural Activities to discover Switzerland
    • Group work sessions to develop a sustainable hospitality concept
    • Sports on the Villars Alpine Resort and expeditions in the nearby mountains
