The Program

Primary school (ages 6-10)

A French-speaking program to build the foundations for further education and lifelong learning. Intensive English and German in immersion from the very first years. primary objective is to bring each student to his or her full potential through personal and academic success. The key strengths of our program are :

A healthy and caring environment in nature where students are happy to come and learn everyday. Chantemerle welcomes a community of 60 boarding and day students who learn to live together and develop their sense of responsibility while studying and enjoying to learn.
A positive learning approach that develops autonomy and delf-confidence. Small class sizes ensure personal attention. Accompanied by their teachers, students build solid academic foundations, become autonomous and happy learners.
Modern languages learned in immersion. All our primary students are exposed to three languages: French, English and German. Chantemerle promotes a natural, motivating and effective learning approach where languages are learned and practiced through content subjects like History, Arts, Science or Maths.

Middle school (ages 11-15)

A French-speaking program that prepares for the French National Brevet and for the admission exams in Swiss & international high schools.
English and German language certifications.

From primary school to the end of middle school, Chantemerle provides an internationally recognized program, giving each student the opportunity to continue studies according to his/her future orientation. They offer a comprehensive and rigorous preparation for high school. Chantemerle successfully prepares for the French National Brevet of Secondary Education as well as for entry admission exams into state and private high schools. Chantemerle also prepare for Certifications for French (DELF), English (Cambridge) and German (Goethe) languages.

High school (age 15+)

After completing their compulsory schooling in Chantemerle, our students can choose between vocational training or continue their studies in high school by preparing for a Swiss Matura, the French Baccalaureate or the International Baccalaureate (IB). The Swiss Matura, the French Baccalaureate and the International Baccalaureate (I.B) are the three main high school diploma well recognized by Swiss as well as international universities. The Swiss Matura allows automatic access to all Swiss and international universities. The IB diploma is more oriented towards US and UK universities and hotel schools. With small classes and modern teaching methods, in a residential and non-residential setting, Chantemerle offers tailor-made programs for each student according to his or her strengths and personal, social and academic project.

*Sport-Art-Study program

Chantemerle Sport-Study and Art-Study programs bring together young talented athletes and artists who wish to combine formal academic training with high-level artistic or sports training (between 8 and 12 hours of training per week). Candidates for these programs are high-performing, motivated and autonomous students who are seeking to compete at the national level or to join an American university on a sports scholarship. The academic curriculum covers the middle school and high school and could either be in French (Swiss Matura and French Bac) or in English (IB diploma). The academic weekly schedules are adapted in order to respect the art or the sport schedules (training and competition). In order to combine high level sport, or art, with a quality school curriculum, Chantemerle school offers:
