The building „Schönfels“, established as Grand Hotel Schönfels in 1869, was acquired by the founder Dr Husmann and reopened as Institut Montana in 1926. Known within the school community as „Grosses Haus“, this building still forms the centre of Institut Montana Zugerberg today and accommodates class rooms of the Swiss Gymnasium, the Dining Hall and administration offices. On the ground floor there is a common room „Blue Room“ for all students, as well as a lounge where the students can play billiard and table football. On the top 3 floors are the boarding facilities of our male students over 15 years old.

The elegant building “Felsenegg”, also a former hotel, serves as a boarding house for girls. It has been recently renovated and boasts modern rooms with spectacular views over the lake of Zug. On the ground floor, the building accommodates modern classrooms and a spacious art room.

The house Juventus was built as an annexe to the Grand Hotel Schönfels and is connected to the main building by a covered corridor. The top 2 floors house younger boys aged 10-15. Apart from the boarding facilities, there are various class rooms and laboratories on the ground floor. Students can buy a wide range of school materials at the kiosk, situated in the bay of house Juventus.

The catholic chapel was built by Dr Max Husmann in 1929 and there are still services held for local residents today. The chapel is the only listed building on campus.

The gym at Institut Montana was the first gym in the whole canton of Zug. Nowadays it also contains a fitness studio and is  open to the students and primarily used for sports classes. Additionally, boarding team also makes use of these spaces for a variety of activities.
