About
The British School of Geneva delivers the English National Curriculum from age 4 to 18, providing a broad and balanced education for every child.
Complementing the fundamentals of communication and language, as well as personal and social development, our renowned Early Years and Primary teaching focuses on specific areas of learning including: literacy; mathematics; understanding the world and expressive arts. In this early stage, carefully planned play forms an important part of children’s development and learning.
The first years of a child’s education are vital for developing their critical thinking and problem solving skills. As such, we have created an environment in which our young students feel empowered to ask questions, feel safe to meet challenges head on and begin on their journey towards reaching their full potential.
Our highly qualified and experienced teachers create tailor-made learning experiences, while nurturing the well-being of every child.
In Years 7-9 (Key Stage 3), all students follow a broad curriculum of general academic subjects consisting of: Mathematics, Science, English, French, History, Geography, ICT, Art, Citizenship and Physical Education.
The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) programme, in Years 10-11 (Key Stage 4), features core subjects complemented by an even broader list of options.
Focus on critical skills such as reasoning, analysis, research and leadership increases, and embedded pastoral care foster a truly supportive and personalised environment that is essential during these important years.
BSG’s Secondary school has been successfully delivering A Levels since 2005, making us the go-to private school for international students looking to achieve an internationally-recognised qualification focusing on selected subjects of their choice.
A Levels subjects are offered according to students’ preferences and include: English, French, with other modern foreign languages opon request, Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, History, Geography, Psychology, Art and IT
This 2-year programme is open to students aged 16 and above, of all nationalities and educational backgrounds. A solid performance in three A-Levels represents a passport for entry to universities worldwide.
For students with clearly identified areas of strength or interest, specialising in fewer subjects is a better fit than programmes with numerous compulsory subjects, such as the International Baccalaureate.
